A blend of 64% Syrah, 29% Grenache and 7% Cinsault. Quite a deep colour. Quite intense red fruit on the nose and palate. A rounded mouthful of flavour with harmonious tannins and a youthful finish. In case you are wondering, Chemin de Moscou is their actual address. Unlikely though it may seem. Rosemary George MW (May 2022)

Full bottle 1,389 g. Certified Ecocert organic. 64% Syrah, 29% Grenache, 7% Cinsault. The 2019 reminds me much more of the 2017 than the 2018. This is full-throated cherry song, shining-glossy-gleaming with the pure joy of the fruit tumbling, laisser-aller, out the glass. Tannins that feel like the iridescence of pheasant feathers. Pomegranate soprano, sumac spice on the alto with a lick of milk chocolate, rose petals dipped in mica dust on the tenor and petrichor on the bass. A subtle, shimmering gradation of flavour and a finish that ripples out in ever-widening circles like a pebble thrown into a still lake. Domaine Gayda
In a little under 20 years, the team at Domaine Gayda have put the slightly unfashionable AOC of Malepere well and truly on the map. Based some 30 kilometres south of the pretty medieval walled city of Carcassonne, they set out on their journey to create an estate that seeks to do things a little differently from the crowd.
They bottle the majority of their wines as Pay's d'Oc IGP, to avoid the constraints of the appellation.
The Figure Libre Chenin Blanc & Cabernet Franc are the creation of winemaker Vincent Chansault, taking inspiration from his time making wine in South Africa and the Loire Valley.
You get a real sense of adventure in all of the wines, from the serious Chemin de Moscou (taken from the street name of the domaine, we hasten to add) a blend of the very best barrels of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, all the way down to the vibrant and juicy Sauvignon Blanc & Syrah under the T'Air D'Oc labels. You get a feel of the new and old world colliding to create thoroughly modern yet delicious wines. These are immensely enjoyable wines from one of the most dynamic estates in Languedoc-Roussillon.
