Coming from one of my favourite lieu-dits, situated just above Grand Cru Clos de Tart, this is a pure, vibrant and lifted wine and it really shows of Perrot-Minot’s skills at focussing fruit flavours and this means that it is a favourite of mine in this portfolio. Relatively forward in the context of the vintage, this is a delicious and hedonistic wine. Rating: 18+ Matthew Jukes www.matthewjukes.com (Jan 2021)

This too is attractively fresh and bright with its aromas of essence of red berries, spice and a lovely floral whiff. The rich and seductively opulent middle weight flavors exude a subtle salinity on the focused, balanced and lingering finish. While this will reward a few years of cellaring, it could easily be enjoyed early on if that’s your preference. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 88-90 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis La Rue de Vergy bursts with aromas of cherries, rose petals, raspberries and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, its demonstrative core of succulent fruit is underpinned by fine, powdery tannins. Rating: 89-91 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
