(2018 was the first vintage for this wine; 50% whole clusters). Ripe aromas of plum, black cherry and earth enjoy a floral top note. There is excellent volume to the suave and seductive yet sleek medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing texture, all wrapped in a finer but equally structured finish that will also require at least a decade to come around. Worth checking out. Drinking range: 2029 - Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

This is the second vintage of Belle Croix, grown on silty clay with stones. 40% whole bunch vinification. Second vintage. Full deep purple, with a gorgeous, heady deep dark raspberry fruit, which continues on to the palate. There is a significant weight of fruit here, leading to a ripe balanced finish with just enough acidity. Fine length. Tasted: November 2020 **** Rating: 90 - 93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2021)

Cask sample. More blue in colour but lighter and livelier on the nose than the Vosne Aux Réas. Big and bold. Good freshness as well as the crunchy fruit. Nice wine! Firm dry finish. Just what you want from a Nuits. Well done! Drinking range: 2025 - 2038 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2021)

From a south-facing vineyard, the 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Belle Croix has a tightly wound bouquet of raspberry, briar and light orange blossom scents. The palate is well balanced with succulent ripe tannins, sweet black cherries and cassis fruit, plus a touch of spice toward the finish. Excellent. Drinking range: 2023 - 2038 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2020)

Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
