Above La Tâche and to the south of Petits Monts and Reignots, this is a very well-placed village wine. Richer in body than the other village wines, red fruit tautness again, a very bright and piercing elegance allied to the silky body. Drinking range: 2025 - 2035 L&S (Oct 2020)

This too is aromatically somewhat reduced though soft spice wisps do escape the funk. As one would naturally expect given the substantial difference in elevation, there is more tension and freshness to the racy and beautifully detailed medium weight flavors that brim with an intense minerality before concluding in a more complex, chiseled and lingering finale. This moderately firm effort is excellent and also worth your interest. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 90-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

Brighter and more ethereal than the Orme des Chalandins, Perrot-Minot's 2019 Vosne-Romanée Champs Perdrix soars with aromas of raspberries, peonies, red berries and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, bright and satiny, it's racier and more mineral, concluding with an elegantly chalky finish. Rating: 90-92 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

Another hillside vineyard, also with a fresh bright purple colour. Here the style is lean and tense, quite savoury, a burst of raspberry and redcurrant fruit, then a spicy finish. Medium plus intensity with some class. Tasted: November 2020 3/5 stars Rating: 90-93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2021)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
