2020 Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Haut Médoc

Colour Red
Origin France, Bordeaux
Sub-district Haut Médoc
Classification Cru Bourgeois Supérieur
ABV 14%

The 2020 de Camensac is a beautiful, Cabernet Sauvignon-driven Haut-Médoc loaded with savory intensity and energy. Dried herbs, tobacco, menthol, plum, chocolate and earthy notes all run through this classically build, mid-weight Haut-Médoc. Give the tannins a few years to soften. This is impressive. Drinking range: 2025 - 2035 Rating: 92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Feb 2023)

The 2020 Château de Camensac has an attractive nose with ample red berry fruit, brown spices, cedar and light earthy aromas. The Merlot is very expressive here (47% of the blend). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and very well judged acidity. This is classic Haut-Médoc, cool and refined with a saline finish that gets the saliva flowing. One of the best wines from the estate in recent years. Highly recommended. Drinking range: 2027 - 2042 Rating: 92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Feb 2023)

The 2020 de Camensac is a gorgeous, vibrant Haut-Médoc. Black cherry, gravel, smoke, cured meats and dried herbs create a distinctly savory, earthy profile. Leather, tobacco and iron develop later, adding further shades of dimension. The tannins are pretty imposing, yet all the elements feel very nicely balanced. Drinking range: 2026 - 2040 Rating: 91-93 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Jun 2021)

The 2020 Château de Camensac has a fresh, lively bouquet of blackberry, freshly picked mint and vibrant strawberry aromas. This is a joy! The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, very saline and marine-influenced, leading to a grippy finish. It’s a bit rough around the edges at the moment but time will smooth it out. A gutsy Haut-Médoc that will be worth cellaring. Drinking range: 2027 - 2042 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2021)
