The 2020 Volnay Les Chevrets 1er Cru has much better control and focus on the nose. It's cooler in style, with black cherries, redcurrant and tea leaves. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, far more fruit than its peers, beautifully integrated oak, and quite a liberal sprinkling of white pepper towards the finish that fans out and lingers. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Drinking range: 2025 - 2044 Rating: 94 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Oct 2024)

An even mid purple. A very pure and elegant nose, striking class. Perfect balance, has shrugged off the vintage entirely. Very persistent, and leaves ideal flavours in the mouth. Bravo, everything in balance and with good typicity. Drink from 2020-2040. Tasted: September 2024. Drinking range: 2020 - 2040 Rating: ***** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Sept 2024)

(from 25+ year old vines). An elegant, pure, ripe and airy nose combines notes of red and dark pinot, anise, violet and rose petal. The vibrant and lilting yet solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors display excellent length on the saline-inflected, firm and impressively persistent finale. This is terrific and while it鈥檚 certainly firm, there is so much supporting sap that it could be approached young if desired. Lovely juice. Drinking range: 2028 - Rating: 93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2022)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouch猫re, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perri猫res. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in 脡chezeaux and Latrici猫res Chambertin
