Mineral, slightly spicy Riesling. On the nose apricot, mint and ivy aromas and smoky components. On the palate, ripe aromas of nectarine and peach with a salty finish. Winemaker's notes (Nov 2022)

Weingut Braunewell
François Breiniville fled 17th Century France's Huguenot persecution to settle in Essenheim, just south west of Mainz.
It took until the 1960's for Adam Braunewell to start bottling the wines from his family's vineyards and, today, he helps his children and grandchildren run this excellent estate and tend their flagship vineyards of Blume and Teufelspfad (the Devil's path!)

From slate soils, as the name says, and it has a mineral lift and firmness. Floral aromatics and a bright juicy nectarine or white currant fruit. Quite dry, it has a fairly lemony acidity and a stony slick finish.
