The 2021 is another stonker from Maria and the family at Bodegas Monfil! Loaded with exuberant blueberry, cranberry and damson fruit. Supple and fresh in the mouth with succulent berry fruitiness and a delicate bite of tannin framing the palate. Bright, appetising and easy going with real interest. L&S (Apr 2023)

Garnacha with some Syrah. Very old vineyards, bush vines. Pale red with the smell of freshly smashed raspberries and florals. OMG, this is raspberries and red bramble berries. Pure, pure fruit, but not supermarket fruit! This is just picked, dusty, complete with green leaves and mintiness. An unpolished, DELICIOUSLY addictively, pure but utterly honest glass of wine. Bodegas y Viñedos Monfil
This family run Bodega has been growing grapes in the Campo de Cariñena since 1945, but only bottling their own wines since 2004 when the three siblings Victor, Maria and Ana took the reins. With beautiful, very old vineyard holdings the fruit they grow is incredible on their gnarly old bush vines. Great quality wine being made here offering stunning value. The Cariñena DO was created in 1932, making it one of the oldest protected growing regions of Europe, at the same time as being the largest vineyard area in the northern region of Aragón.
