We have long been fans of the brilliant Hans Vinding-Diers. A magical winemaker who for years was involved with the next-door estate - our friends at Bodega Chacra. The 2020 is 90% Malbec & 10% Merlot with 10 months in second year French oak. Deep purple colour with aromas of spice, currants, and a hint of violets. In the mouth this is full-bodied with big and ripe tannins, ripe blackberry and bitter cherry fruit with elegant acidity that really keeps it flowing beautifully. The 2021 Malbec A Lisa from Mainqué, Río Negro was 15% aged in barrels. A bright purple in the glass. The nose offers violets, fresh plum, sour cherry and pinches of country herb. In the mouth, it has a tea-like texture with a degree of grip and a finely grained, juicy flow before the flavorful finish, which lingers at remarkable length given the fruity style.
