Brighter and a shade fresher than the Montagny - this has a high line of fresh pep. Weight does build - but more measured with a gentle scrub of mineral scratch. Long and broadish - but neater - and more pinned together. Very impressive. From parcels in Puligny (70%) and Volnay (30%). 25% New Oak for 11 months, like everything here this year. 12.8% L&S (Dec 2023)

The Bourgogne Blanc comes from La Bergerie in Puligny (two thirds) the rest from Lombois below Volnay. A light but pure white fruit. Nicely balanced all across the palate with a fresh acidity to finish, and good length. Very attractive with just the right oaking. Jean-Marc's daughter Lydie and son-in-law François Alzingre have worked alongside him and effectively run the domaine, and are now being joined by their children. Alongside the wines from the family's own vineyards, They also run a successful négociant business, vinifying wines from the Côte Chalonnaise with huge aplomb. In Montagny in particular, the wine is the best we have found in the appellation, and remarkably consistent from year to year.
