A luxurious feel, with velvety tannins, enjoyable ripe black fruits, gourmet touches of smoked vanilla root and liqourice, all well drawn out through the palate, and providing plenty of estate signature. A well balanced luscious wne with a saline limestone twist. 3.55ph, 100% new oak. 28hl/h yield, smaller than across the rest of the Ausone range because of 50 year old vines planted almost entirely by Alain Vauthier when he arrived 1970. Harvest September 19 to 26. Drinking range: 2030 - 2046 Rating: 96 Jane Anson, www.janeanson.com (May 2023)

Tasted in the line up at Château Ausone. Wonderful nose. Loaded with great floral aromatics and nicely ripened, small dark berries. Lovely polish and push. Just so well judged. Plum, cherry skin and wonderful energy. Pert, yet full and nice breadth. There is both energy and impact - great.L&S (Apr 2023)
The 2022 Moulin St Georges has turned out nicely, retaining its bright, vibrant signature despite the warmth of the vintage. Offering up aromas of cherries, berries, bay leaf and a deft touch of toasty oak, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with good density and cut and a penetrating, mineral finish. It's produced from a seven-hectare, west-facing vineyard opposite Ausone that always ripens some 10 days later than Ausone itself. Drinking range: 2030 - 2055 Rating: 93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Mar 2025)
The 2022 Moulin Saint-Georges has really opened up on the nose since tasting from barrel. It's plusher and opulent than it showed then, with layers of black cherry, cassis fruit, orange pith and glycerine. The palate is medium-bodied and velvety smooth, with lush tannins and a dash of cracked black pepper on the finish. There is structure and sapidity here. This is a stylish Moulin Saint-Georges that should age well. Drinking range: 2028 - 2045 Rating: 92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Feb 2025)
Château Moulin Saint Georges
Owned by Alain Vauthier, Château Moulin Saint Georges is situated in Saint-Emilion and covers 7 hectares. The vineyards are well sited on the south-west facing 'Pavie' slope. The average age of the vines on this slope is 26 years old, and they are planted at a density of 6500 vines/hectare. Vauthier believes that the quality of his wine is a direct result of how well the vines are tended to, therefore yields are kept extremely low in order to concentrate the flavour, and all grapes are hand-harvested to ensure only the best grapes are used in production.
