Traces of the secondary fermentation render the nose difficult to evaluate. On the palate however, there is excellent punch, size and weight to the overtly stony broad-shouldered flavors that conclude in a compact, youthfully austere and powerful finish. Still untouched in its barrels. Fresh lemon yellow. Some oak, some lees on the nose. Exceptionally powerful at the end of the palate with a little bitterness, both lemon and orange zest, plenty of minerals and an exceptionally long aftertaste. The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
