2022 Gigondas: final blend from tank 70% Grenache & 30% Syrah 50% destemmed. Deep colour, very ripe on the nose, the palate is very blue fruited, dark cherry, meaty, fruit pastille, very moreish, vibrant and sweet with long long flow, there is also a slight saline note, really drinkable and very enjoyable, will need 3-5 years before approaching, much more elegant than previous vintages, tannin is not so evident, but liquorice minerality shines through. L&S (Oct 2023)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

A stylish version, with real concentration and ripeness to the plum and black cherry flavors, all backed by a steely layer of graphite minerality. Dried lavender and incense add aromatic intrigue, but this is mostly about simmering, smoky power, with the muscular tannins keeping a firm grip. Needs time. Best from 2026 through 2037. —K.B. Drinking range: 2026 - 2037 Rating: 94 Kristen Bieler, The Wine Spectator (Nov 2024)

The perfumed 2022 Gigondas showcases alluring orange blossom, strawberry, ripe raspberry, red cherry, pressed violets, white pepper and a touch of graphite. Full-bodied, concentrated and layered, the 2022 is firmly structured by ripe tannins and checks out with good length on the focused finish. Four more years in a cool cellar are needed to unlock the wine’s full potential. Drinking range: 2026 - 2035 Rating: 92 Nicholas Greinacher - Vinousmedia.com (Sep 2024)

72% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 2% Mourvèdre. Vinified in concrete tanks. Aged in tanks (35%) and two- to five-year-old foudres (65%). Tank/cask sample. Tasted blind. Ripe red fruits with a perfumed note of violet and blueberry. The palate is soft, rounded and ripe, with a long and structured finish. The tannins are present but have a nice richness to them. A savoury spiced note comes through on the cooling finish. Drinking range: 2025 - 2033 Rating: 16 Alistair Cooper MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2023)

Domaine la Bouïssière

Thierry and Gilles Faravel's Domaine la Bouïssière in Gigondas is exceptional in many ways, apart from the personality of Thierry himself, it is the site of the vineyard, high up under the 'Dentelles de Montmirail' which makes the defining difference.

In contrast to the vines being baked on the plains of stones at the foot of the hill, the Bouïssière vines benefit from cooling air at night falling from the high peaks, and the wines retain a freshness and subtle persistence which is very different to the sometimes bludgeoning broadness and alcoholic heat of the wines on the plain.

Gilles and Thierry Faravel employ non-interventionalist practices to make wines as naturally as possible, resulting in wines of immense concentration and depth, with true vibrancy and the capacity to age for ten to fifteen years.
