Translucent ruby. Well-defined nose of cool, pure, ripe red fruit with earthy notes in support. Great poise between sweet and savoury. Very much cool-climate Pinot, but with an inviting generosity of fruit on the palate, too. Fine, light tannins and lovely refreshment. Long red-fruit and sandalwood finish. GV Drinking range: 2024 - 2029 Rating: 17 Oliver Coleman, www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2024)

Bright red fruits burst from the glass with raspberry, cherry and damson, undercut with delicate earthy spice. Vivacious and mouth filling with red fruits to the fore once again, succulent and pure with a hint of the hedgerow, a fine savoury frame and sleek acid push to the finish.L&S (Sept 2024)
Pale garnet. Delicate, recognisably Pinot nose. Fragrant and light-bodied but with a little tannic structure suggesting it's no fly-by-night. I fully agree with my colleague Oliver Coleman about the agreeable balance between sweet and savoury. Reasonable length. A red for fish? Drinking range: 2024 - 2028 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2025)
Moya Meaker
Canadian businessman and former owner of Bordeaux’s Chateau Gaby, David Curl married South African born Genevieve Hamilton-Brown which ultimately led them to Elgin where they acquired a farm called Habibi, planted mainly to apples but also including small parcels of Pinot Noir and Shiraz, the resulting wines named after Genevieve’s late mother Moya Meaker, who was crowned Miss South Africa in 1959.
Bonfire Night: Mixed Case offer
Light up the night with our new 6-bottle case, perfectly curated for an evening of fireworks, sparklers, and cosy gatherings. We’ve chosen the ultimate selection to match every moment of Bonfire Night, from the first celebratory pop to the warmth of the roaring fire.
For the Sparkle: Begin the celebration with a trio of exceptional grower Champagnes. Pop the cork on the vibrant and fruity Cuvée 1629 from Mathieu-Nicolas, enjoy the rich, full-bodied 100% Pinot Noir Gonet-Médeville Blanc de Noirs, and savour the poise and elegance of the Marc Hébrart Selection Extra Brut.
For the Fire: As the evening draws in, settle in with two perfect warming reds. The organic Domaine de Cristia Côtes du Rhône is a juicy, spicy Grenache that’s the ideal companion for smoky sausages. From South Africa's cool-climate Elgin, the Moya Meaker Pinot Noir (named for a former Miss South Africa) offers beautiful, earthy elegance to sip as you watch the embers glow.
For the Crisp Air: To cut through the chill—and a sticky piece of Parkin—we’ve included a stunning Chenin Blanc from Loire rising star Vanessa Cherruau at Château de Plaisance. It’s a beautifully textured, organic white with a crisp, saline finish that is as refreshing as the cool autumn air.
