In the cellar, Jean bypasses stainless steel altogether. He tucked this juice away into massive 1,000-litre Austrian oak foudres, banned malolactic conversion entirely, and let ambient yeasts do their slow, quiet work over ten months. The result is something that will make Burgundy lovers sit up very straight. Give it a moment to warm up in the glass, and it starts to play ball revealing subtle layers of toasted oatmeal, green apple, and a sudden, bright lift of kiwi fruit. On the palate, it is beautifully linear and taut. This is not a Chardonnay for those who want a buttery, tropical fruit cocktail. It is pure, mineral-driven architecture in a bottle, and while it is remarkably focused right now, it will reward those with the patience to tuck a few bottles away in the cellar for the next decade. DELIVERY SERVICE
We offer free nationwide delivery on all orders over £150 (excluding Highlands & Islands). Express Delivery options also available.Platinum in hue and cool in demeanour, the 2024 Chardonnay opens with a nose of stony restraint: salty flint, gravel, oatmeal, terracotta clay, lime zest, and lemon leaf. As the wine warms, subtle notes of kiwi fruit begin to emerge, adding lift and nuance to the citrus–mineral spine. On the palate, a vivid seam of lime juice runs cleanly through the centre, hemmed in by white citrus pith and a chalk-dry tannic grip. At first, the texture holds the fruit tightly within – savoury and reserved – but with time, it begins to unfurl. Granny Smith apple and kiwi notes surface, with a whisper of walnut on the tail. The finish is long and focused, trailing apple skin and bracing lime.Winemaker's notes (Mar 2026)
Moya Meaker
Canadian businessman and former owner of Bordeaux’s Chateau Gaby, David Curl married South African born Genevieve Hamilton-Brown which ultimately led them to Elgin where they acquired a farm called Habibi, planted mainly to apples but also including small parcels of Pinot Noir and Shiraz, the resulting wines named after Genevieve’s late mother Moya Meaker, who was crowned Miss South Africa in 1959.
