Whether it's the old vine effect or that it has 10% more Syrah than the normal MiP* cuvée, this wine has a character all of its own, coming across as the slightly drier and more mineral of Guillaume's 2024s. It's gorgeously aromatic, possibly more herbal than floral or fruity, and the silky dryness makes it brilliant as a gastronomic wine, even if it's still a refreshing and characterful aperitif. Beautifully fragrant with hints of rose petals, ripe red berry fruit and creamy white peach combine with mineral notes on the harmonious, rounded palate; finishing gently floral and above all, extraordinarily delicious. A blend of 50 per cent cinsault, 30 per cent syrah and 20 per cent grenache. Sam Wylie-Harris (Jun 2025)

Domaine des Diables

Domaine des Diables – ‘the devils’- is owned and run by Guillaume and Virginie Philip, and is the home of the MiP* (*Made in Provence) labels as well as Les Petits Diables and Rosé BonBon. Virginie and Guillaume met at Montpellier wine school, and their first production, based on grapes from Virginie's father's vineyard at the foot of The Mont Saint Victoire, was in 2006, from the 2005 vintage. L&S has been their sole UK importer since the 2007 vintage.

Domaine des Diables has won nine consecutive Prix d'Excellence awards at the Concours Général Agricole. This special award is given in recognition of the best ratio of medals to samples presented to the competition and this astonishing record means that their son Paul, born in 2010, has shaken hands with three ministers of agriculture. The MiP* wines are regular winners of awards in all the competitions they have entered in the last ten years.

The vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable, eco-friendly way, bordering on organic farming, with careful monitoring for disease problems so that interventions are kept to the minimum. In the cellar it is all about cleanliness and use of technology to keep the wines as pure and aromatic as possible, so it is fully equipped with pressing under inert gas, tangential filter, and temperature control.

The grapes are harvested at night or in the early morning so as to save energy needed to cool them, and protected from oxidation with dry ice, reducing the need for added sulphites. The grapes are either directly pressed or given a short maceration on the skins, but Guillaume has his own little tricks which he keeps secret, which make for the particularly aromatic expression of the Domaine's wines. Bottling is also highly technical, with the bottles corked under a vacuum.

All the wines are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The Alternative Rosé Collection: Escaping the Sea of Pale Pink

With delightful summer drinking in mind, this curated mixed case offers a thrilling tour of what happens when serious winemakers turn their attention to premium pink wine[cite: 10]. While it highlights an absolute benchmark from Provence, this selection intentionally looks beyond the famous postcodes of the Côte d'Azur to showcase winemakers creating wines full of unique character, complexity, and sheer gastronomic pleasure[cite: 10].

Instead of paying a premium for a flashy label, this collection focuses entirely on terroir, delivering incredible value and variety[cite: 10]. From a vibrant English still rosé grown on pure Hampshire chalk to a profoundly serious, 94-point Tavel, this case provides everything you need to break the routine and drink infinitely better this season[cite: 10]. For internal inventory references and seasonal sorting parameters, please refer to Summer Beaujolais Mixed 12.pdf[cite: 10].

Inside the Alternative Rosé Case:

  • 2024 ROSE BONBON, Domaine des Diables: The absolute benchmark of classic Provence[cite: 10]. Grown on the limestone scree of Sainte Victoire, this is an explosive, highly complex rosé featuring notes of white peach, delicate rose petal, and a frictionless, silky texture[cite: 10].

  • 2025 TAVEL La Dame Rousse, Domaine de la Mordorée: A profoundly serious, 94-point gastronomic rosé[cite: 10]. It features a deep brilliant pink hue heavily buffered by vivacious acidity, bursting with pink grapefruit, wild strawberry, and warm exotic spice[cite: 10].

  • 2024 FEUDO Chiaretto, La Feliciana: A flawless expression of traditional Lake Garda rosé[cite: 10]. Crafted from the rare indigenous Groppello grape, it provides lifted hedgerow flowers and wild cherry driven by a highly refreshing, saline finish[cite: 10].

  • 2025 ILLARIO ROSATO, Fattoria di Magliano: This 100 percent organic Sangiovese from the coastal Maremma is sleek, satin-like, and completely bone-dry[cite: 10]. An intellectual rosé featuring crunchy red cherry and native scrubland botanicals[cite: 10].

  • 2024 DANCER IN PINK Rosé, Black Chalk: A tremendously vibrant still rosé from the Test Valley in Hampshire[cite: 10]. Early-ripening Pinot Précoce gives an explosive red-fruit character underpinned by fierce, saline chalk minerality and an appetizing textural grip[cite: 10].

  • NV CUVÉE ROSÉ Spumante Brut, Il Follo: A unique, highly aromatic sparkling blend from the Veneto incorporating 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon[cite: 10]. Expect zippy citrus, white spring flowers, and a wonderfully clean, dry finish[cite: 10].

Whether you are hosting a summer dinner party or looking for the perfect weekend aperitivo, these terroir-driven bottles are guaranteed to stand out in any ice bucket[cite: 10].
