A powerful second wine with orange peel, apple, pineapple and crush stone character. It's full-bodied and layered, with framing phenolics. Extremely long and complete. A blend of 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% semillon. Rating: 95-96 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (May 2026)

The 2025 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc is impressive on the nose for a Deuxième Vin, with engaging green apple, kiwi, pear drop and light stony scents that are very well defined. The palate is well balanced, with fine acidity, lovely texture, the 30% Sémillon imparting weight and umami towards the peppery finish. Not immensely long, but this is very satisfying.
