Grand Reserve Brut Champagne Benedick

Grapes Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Colour White
Origin France, NV
District Champagne
ABV 12%

A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with about 10% Chardonnay to give a dash of elegance. Considerably better than some widely available cheap Grandes Marques, and very consistent in quality and value. L&S (Nov 2017)

Savoury nose suggests bone-dry wine. Mouthfilling fizz. Perfectly respectable and quite an impact on the palate. Quite long for the price. October 2011 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson MW OBE -

Spicy green apple and some red apple on the nose. Soft, pleasant sparkle. Balanced and fresh with crisp acidity and a bit of toastiness on the medium to long finish. 88 points, very good value. Matt Walls

Clean, light and super refreshing. No enormous depth but would make a lovely summer party champagne. GV. Jancis Robinson MW OBE -

Bargain price for this tight, herby apple fruited Champagne with its light, yeasty character. The palate has a vivacious freshness too, lots of clean, crisp, lemon zest fruit and zingily dry (but not tart) citrus acidity. Fine aperitif stuff, or lovely with oysters. Rating: 90-90

The best house Champagne I have tasted in a very long time Egon Ronay

I could not believe the price. It is a 'soft-landings' type of champagne, easy to drink, ripe and gulpable. Serena Sutcliffe MW

A great value alternative to pricier names. It is rare to find Champagne of this quality at such a modest price. Jonathan Ray

Champagne Benedick

Benedick comes from a family-owned 'négociant-manipulant' which also has considerable vineyard holdings, which may help explain the consistently high quality they maintain at a price which may be marginally higher than the cheapest, but for a quality level which is always much higher.

BENEDICK BRUT - our House Champagne

There's always room for celebration when Champagne is this good at this price! Made especially for LEA & SANDEMAN by a family-owned négociant-manipulant near Epernay, Champagne Benedick is mostly Pinot Noir which lends a little more bready/briochey character to the crisp elegant fruit. How can you say no?!
