'Bonkers' is the suitably outlandish debut still wine from Dermot and Ana Sugrue. The wines full name is in fact: - "bonkers zombie robot alien monsters from the future ate my brain (sur lie)".
V2 offers a brilliant follow-on to Dermot's fast selling wine the first release of Bonkers. Multi-dimensional, this is a multi-vintage (2022/2023/2024), solera-aged Chardonnay. Rich, creamy and savoury with a nutty, honeyed complexity from its élévage, on the lees, in large and small barrels, old and new. A touch of carefully controlled oxidation is balanced by a freshness and fine structure, offering delicious drinking now, as well as potential for ageing. Whole-bunch pressed. Élevage in equal parts French and American oak of various cooperage and size. A small proportion of barrels were allowed to develop flor. L&S (Dec 2024)
