|Grapes||Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc|
|Classification||5ème Cru Classé|
As usual more solid on the nose, firmer on the palate than the Haut Batailley which precedes it, and the tannins are wilder, but this is also very good. Seems not to have quite the flavour density of the Barton, for example, until the finish, which holds well revealing more and more depth and black fruit complexity. L&S (Mar 2005)

A deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by this property’s tell-tale cassis characteristics. Medium-bodied and monolithic, with fine ripeness as well as depth along with light to moderate tannin in the finish, the 2001 Grand-Puy-Lacoste should be at its peak between 2006-2014.
