For those who do not mind the rather jammy profile of the vintage, the 2003 Dugat-Py Mazis will be very appealing indeed, and represents a fine rendition of this cru in this vintage, avoiding torrefaction. A rich bouquet of ripe red and black fruit it complemented by plenty of savoury complexity: rich earth, Mazis graphite and even some incipient sous bois. On the palate the wine is juicy, supple, concentrated—and retains its freshness. In fact, I could see the vintage influence being harder and harder to identify as time passes. (On Cellartracker) Rating: 93-93 William Kelley (Dec 2017)

Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
