Pure, delicate aromas of peach, smoke and sexy oak. Sweet and broad but more taut than the Referts, with noteworthy depth to the stone fruit and floral flavors. Here sound acidity gives definition and energy to the flavors. The delicate, fine-grained finish is clean, vibrant and long. An excellent showing. Rating: 91-91 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar(Sep 2008)

As is often the case with Champs-Canet the aromas possess a touch of the exotic including mango, pineapple and apricot to go with white flower and citrus notes plus a bit of toasty oak that introduces rich, sweet and very fresh flavors that possess good density and mid-palate fat, all wrapped in a linear finish that offers fine acid/fruit balance. In a word, lovely. 2011+ Rating: 91-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com(Jun 2007)

Subdued but pure aromas of stone fruits, grilled nuts and minerals. Fat, rich and sweet, with a distinctly thick texture and just enough acidity to maintain its balance. These vines were picked very early, notes Boillot, but they always yield a wine high in alcohol. Rating: 88-90 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar(Nov 2006)

Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot

Jean-Marc Boillot left the family domaine to be winemaker to Olivier Leflaive for five years. Then from his maternal grandfather Étienne Sauzet he inherited much of the vineyard of the old Domaine Sauzet, in some of the best vineyards of Puligny, and with this holding and others from his paternal side, he set up his own business. He makes wines that show well young, with complex exotic fruit aromas with the core of minerality, but they age well too. His daughter Lydie and son are now taking a more active role in the domaine, and they have branched out with a thriving négociant business and a property near the Pic Saint Loup in the Languedoc - Domaine des Roques.
