There are a lot of rich flavours on the nose an attractive mix of red and black fruits. The palate is lush supple the fruit backed by rounded tannins layers of flavour giving complexity. Black cherry and cassis dominate their ripeness giving a fleshy richness at the back. 2015-22 Rating: 92 Derek Smedley MW, (Dec 2013)

Rating: 17 Matthew Jukes (Jan 2012)

Sweet, liqueur-like. Easy and floral and relatively open. 2013-2019 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - (Jan 2012)

This is also quite floral with attractively fresh aromas of raspberry and wild cherry that gives way to mineral-inflected, detailed and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky mouth feel on the pure, dusty and firm finish. Lovely and very Chambolle. 2017+ Rating: 88 - 91 Allen Meadows, (Jan 2012)

Perfumed and expressive. Pure and rippling onto the palate. Good acidity and liveliness. Talcy fine tannins. Lucid red fruit. Aromatic and zesty and just slightly mineral. A pure, tight and long line for a village wine. Very good+ From 2015 Rating: 16.5 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Nov 2011)

Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
