Reticent, musky aromas of strawberry and menthol. Broad but clenched in the mouth, initially showing more fruit than earth. But gained rapidly in precision with air, displaying much juicier red fruit and floral flavors. Firm tannins betray a slight youthful dryness but the finish shows very good definition and verve. Rating: 91 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Mar 2013)

Good dark red. Aromas of blackberry, bitter chocolate, mocha, licorice and peppery spices. Juicy, intense and fine-grained, with a strong saline quality adding interest to the dark fruit and chocolate flavors. The long, rising finish features suave, sweet tannins. Rating: 91 - 93 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan 2012)
This is intensely and a rather exotically aromatic. Very supple on the attack. Quite sumptuous berry fruit up front. Very juicy fruit with good freshness. Smoothly supportive tannins. It finishes on an energetic note. I like the tension at the end, but the Chaignots seemed to have more depth. Fine. Rating: 17.75 - 18 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Jan 2012)
This is also quite spicy with ripe and well-layered aromas of red and blue pinot fruit that is satisfyingly fresh. The rich, dense and enveloping flavors possess excellent phenolic maturity as well as outstanding depth and length on the mouth coating finish. Here the tannins are a bit more prominent and will require a few more years of cellar time to resolve. 2024+ Rating: 91 - 93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2012)
