Quite toasty and rich. Not the most typical Blanc de Blancs but a very nice wine – a food wine? Not quite as tight a cuvée as some. Drinking range: 2018 - 2021 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com(Oct 2018)

The 2010 Blanc de Blancs spent five years on the fine lees with just 4% matured in oak. It has a very elegant bouquet with hints of praline and freshly sliced cornice pear, all with fine delineation. The palate is fresh on the entry with keen sense of direction.Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com(Jun 2017)

Developed bread and wood-smoke aromas are matched by a fine mousse and savoury, apple peel flavours. Stylish and classic. Drinking range: 2017 - 2019 Rating: 96 Susie Barrie MW(Jun 2017)

Like L&S in 2018 Nyetimber are celebrating an important 30th anniversary. In 1988 as Lea & Sandeman was founded, the vines were being planted here in West Sussex. Few vineyards in England are better placed to exploit the similarity between the soils of the South Downs and those of the Champagne region in France than Nyetimber in West Sussex. But it took a couple from Chicago - Stuart and Sandy Moss - to bring the dream to life when they bought Nyetimber Manor in 1986. Vineyards followed from 1988 onwards, and the first vintage released was the 1992.

Nyetimber is now owned by Eric Heerema who already owned a vineyard in West Sussex when he bought Nyetimber in 2006 and had already identified more land for planting. All were amalgamated into Nyetimber which, now, comprises some 350 acres, all planted to Chardonnay and the Pinots Noir and Meunier, making it at the time the biggest vineyard in England.
