2010 Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot
|Sub-district||Côte de Nuits|
Although this is not giving much away on the nose, the palate is a different story. Rich and full of substance, and still fresh and fine. Lots of lovely ripe tannins in the middle of the tongue, cherries and woodland notes. L&S (Nov 2011)

Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot
Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
It is light but has fragrance and freshness coming from the strong red fruited influence. There is sweetness in the middle but a slight lack of concentration. The mix of red fruits is attractive light giving freshness towards the back. 2014-20 Rating: 89 Derek Smedley MW, www.dereksmedleymw.co.uk (Dec 2013)
The nose on the Vosne-Romanée is a little muted at first, but it opens up nicely with time. It is underpinned by quite brittle tannins on the palate, a coarseness that dissipates with continued aeration. Though there is a little dryness on the finish, there is agreeable length and a sense of class. Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com (Jul 2012)
Rating: 17 Matthew Jukes www.matthewjukes.com (Jan 2012)
A red and black pinot fruit nose is liberally cut with floral and spice aromas that lead to silky, pure and detailed flavors that evidence a soft earthiness on the firm but not hard and lingering finish. Correct. 2016+ Rating: 87 - 89 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2012)
Neat and rather seductive sweet nose. Good freshness on the palate even if not the most intense. A tiny bit drying on the end. 2014-2020 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2012)
Sweet and vivid fruit aroma. Very fresh and juicy on the palate with lovely balance. It has vibrant cherry fruit and fine tannins. It dances across the palate. A delightful and elegant Vosne. Very good. From 2014 Rating: 16 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Nov 2011)
