Creamed blackcurrants, rich and ripe and full on the palate. Completely shrugs off the oak. Mineral lift; great purity carrying the fruit all the way to the finish. Drinking range: 2023 - L&S (Nov 2014)

(from a .75 ha vineyard worked manually and by horse; vinified with 75% stems). There is enough reduction present to push the fruit to the background but what is discernible clearly seems ripe. The palate impression of the delineated middle weight flavors is more mineral-driven if less powerful with excellent underlying tension adding a lovely sense of vibrancy to the mouth coating, balanced, saline and wonderfully long finish. This too offers outstanding quality for its level and is well-worth your attention. 2023+ Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2015)

60% whole bunch. 67% new oak. 70-year-old vines. Lots of millerandé grapes, all very small. Very perfumed and headily seductive. Racy and minerally refreshing, Very pure and impressive. Relatively forward and a crackling good drink. Drinking range: 2019 - 2029 Rating: 17.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2015)

(60% vendange entier; 18 hectoliters per hectare; 85% new oak): Good dark red. Rather wild aromas of blueberry, smoke and minerals, plus a flinty nuance. Sweeter and finer-grained than the Coeur de Roi, offering nicely ripe flavors of purple fruits. Finishes with subtle mounting length and chocolatey tannins. Dugat says the marne blanche in this hillside vineyard is good soil for white wine. Drinking range: 2021 - 2031 Rating: 90-92 Stephen Tanzer, www.vinousmedia.com (Jan 2015)

Domaine Dugat-Py

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
