Immediately this seems broader and more powerful. As Daniel says unlike Migoua, which is a little different, Tourtine is very classic Bandol. A textbook example of all you should expect and yet so much more! As every year it is a marker for the appellation, an almost perfect wine. Even in 2014 there is an underlying depth of rich black fruits, ground pepper, fragrant herbs, lovely delivery on the palate, touch tighter wound, more powerful and yet sweeter. Blackberry and ripe, ripe raspberries all curbed gently by the juicy, building tannins. Great length and long, pure feel. Drinking range: 2017 - 2037 L&S (Jul 2017)

Offering more minerality than the cuvee Classique, the 2014 Bandol La Tourtine is a structured, tannic effort that has lots of fruit, ample mid-palate density and a masculine, firm style that will need bottle age to resolve. Rating: 91-93 Jeb Dunnuck - www.robertparker.com (Jun 2016)
Domaine Tempier
Domaine Tempier is an old family estate, owned by the Peyrauds since Lucien Peyraud married Lucie Tempier in 1936. The family was largely instrumental in getting the appellation of Bandol established in 1941. The reds are the quintessential expression of Mourvèdre, grown on terraced vineyards on steep hills around the 'plan du Castellet'.
Traditional vinification using indigenous yeasts, the wines are aged in a variety of different sized oak (25 to 75hl) for between 18 and 20 months. These are wines which are capable of long ageing, but even young they have a finesse of fruit and earthy flavour, coupled with fine-grained tannins, which lift them above the generality of Provençal reds.
