With the sparsity of wine in 2016, it is amazing that Pierrick Laroche managed to get his hands on a new 1er Cru for the property. This shows perfectly the step up in quality from village to 1er Cru, more depth, width and length, lots of ripe citrus, mineral drive and tell tale iodine/oyster shell character. These wines have a lovely shape and sleekness, one for Chablis fanatics. Drinking range: 2018 - 2025 L&S (Jan 2018)

An agreeably fresh and cool if vaguely exotic nose reflects notes of passion fruit, kiwi, essence of pear and a whiff of quinine. I very much like the relatively fine texture of the medium-bodied flavors that are really quite refined for Beauroy, which terminate in a slightly sweet and warm finish.Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Oct 2018)

Maison des Hâtes

Pierrick Laroche is a charming young man and a very talented winemaker. He owns 12 Hectares of Chablis vineyards and a complete hectare of 1er Cru 'Fourchaume L'Homme Mort', all sold under the Domaine des Hâtes label.

His négotiant business started with some recent short harvests caused by a terrible run of luck with the weather. Pierrick started buying in fruit to bulk out what he had - and to keep the cellar full. As with all his wines, these Hâtes wines are all about freshness and precision. They sold under the Maison des Hâtes label.
