2016 Domaine des Trinités

Grapes Roussanne
Colour White
Origin France, Languedoc-Roussillon
District Vin de Pays
ABV 14%

Extended lees contact and regular battonage give this wine an interesting, textured palate – perfect for food. Herbaceous character in the mouth with fresh acidity, a touch of smoke and slate, plus a honeyed peachy character that lingers on the finish. More peaches, plums and a delicate whiff of smoke again on the nose. Julie Sheppard, Imbibe Magazine (Oct 2017)

*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.

Very fresh and floral on the nose, like a summer garden after rain (said one of the Gang coming over all poetic suddenly). Richer and fuller on the palate with stone fruit, especially apricot, veering towards an oxidative note, but reined in perfectly by acidity and backed up a lees-rich texture. A wine full of interest from an English-owned and run estate, mainly in Faugères, working on biodynamic principles. Rating: 89 (Oct 2017)

Domaine des Trinités

The transition from IT to viticulture is not a path well-trodden, but after working and loving a number of harvests in his youth, Simon Coulshaw decided that it was the path he was going to walk. The wines from Domaine des Trinités are a true reflection of the passions of their maker and his interest in terroir and local varieties.

The property is roughly divided by 15 hectares falling into the AOC Faugeres appellation, producing elegant and spicy wines, and the remaining 9 hectares in AOC Pézenas Coteaux de Langeudoc, where the wines are full of fruit.
