As pale and strikingly bright as ever, Guillaume Philippe’s flagship Rose is extremely aromatic, with a nose which combines citrus and red fruit, and a brisk dry palate which is refreshing and moreish. This wine, L&S’s best-selling product, is’ summer in a glass’ for many of our customers. Don’t MiP* out. L&S (Apr 2018)

*Case price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.

It’s the time of year for rosé, but rather than push you into buying just one epic wine, I have decided to pitch two cheeky candidates – one for posh guests and one for uninhibited glugging. MIP started off its life in the latter category, many moons ago, and it has graduated, every vintage, to a higher plane. In 2017 it has arrived on the plateau of excellence and when wines step up to this mark, their flavours are not simply about fruitiness or juiciness but about balance, freshness and length. This is sheer class and it will go with any summer dish imaginable.Matthew Jukes, Moneyweek(May 2018)

Tried and trusted Provençal pink, with lashings of zingy, rose and pink peppercorn-edged fruit.Jane MacQuitty, The Times(Aug 2018)

STAR BUY. Virginie Fabre and Guillaume Philip made their first rosé in 2005. It was a huge success and the pair now make an entire range of pale pink wines. This one is my favourite and a better buy than all the competition. Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph(Jun 2018)

The abbreviated name, as you might have guessed, stands for Made in Provence. It’s so pale that it’s barely pink at all, and its flavours of lemon and thyme are more white wine than rosé - so it’s might be best suited if you prefer white wines. BBC Good Food Guide(May 2018)

Very light rose petal coloured robe. Pleasant and powerful bouquet with notes of white flowers and a small yellow fruit. This is a wine with a delicate mouth feel which is ideal as a pre-dinner drink on a summer evening or as an accompaniment to light meals.Winemaker's notes(Jan 2018)

Made in Provence

Formerly Domaine Sainte Lucie, this is a domaine with wonderful vineyard holding on the dry stony lower slopes of the Provençal icon mountain, the Mont Saint Victoire. Forty hectares of vines with an average age of thirty-five. These deep soils can only support vines, and are perfect for the production of low yields and fine wines. The wines are made from a mix of Grenache and Syrah, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault, and the rosés get an addition of Vermentino (Rolle) which adds a bright floral expression.

Ah, the pale pale delight of super refreshing Provence rosé. What could be nicer? Here's a selection, all variations on the same theme, but all subtly and deliciously different. And for the sakes of luxury, we have included a couple of bottles of Domaine Tempier's iconic Bandol rosé.

For many a wine drinker, wine is largely a French endeavor. Certainly many of the world's best known and most highly regarded wines come from France. Here's a selection from across the country, drawing on the classic regions, for all round dependable delicious drinking.
