Lovely pretty attack. More balance and restraint here than the other two quite rich and warm Chambolles. Better energy. Really good flow. Fruit is red and pretty - small wild strawberries with just a touch of leafy stem too. 25% Whole Bunch again. Thank goodness, it really seems to have worked, The highish level of alcohol is well masked here. This is quite a bold, but a joy-filled Chambolle. L&S (Nov 2019)

Barrel sample. Mid crimson, a little darker than some. Darker fruited too, though there is some oak sweetness – more vanilla than spice – and pure red fruits with a hint of violets. A little more open than their Chambolles Charmes. There’s real depth here, depth of fruit and compact but smooth tannins to perfectly frame that fruit. Compact and elegant at the same time. Domaine Faiveley
The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côtes de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
