Medium deep crimson, with reductive spicy notes. The quality of the fruit underneath the reduction is clearly very fine, developing gracefully across the palate with a little oak to finish and a trace of reductive bitterness. The wine should win through to score more highly later. Just a slightly lactic finish. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: September 2023. Drinking range: 2027 - 2032 Rating: *** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2023)

A gush of succulent black cherry fruit introduces this effusive red, along with black currant, blackberry, iron and oak spice notes. Dense, yet racy, with an intense, lingering finish of fruit, mineral and spices. Best from 2025 through 2045. Drinking range: 2025 - 2045 Rating: 95 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Feb 2022)

(from a huge 3.96 ha parcel that gave yields of only 20 hl/ha in 2019). In contrast to the prior wines, here the nose is quite firmly reduced. More interesting are the superbly concentrated and gorgeously textured big-bodied, powerful and muscular flavors that flash a mix of minerality and salinity on the wonderfully complex and highly persistent finish where the only nit is a slight warmth. This is potentially outstanding and a wine that should age effortlessly. Drinking range: 2034 - Rating: 92-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

Faiveley's 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers is very promising indeed, mingling aromas of smoky berry fruit and plums with hints of rose hip, orange peel, musk and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's concentrated and vibrant, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. Rating: 93-95 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)
