(from the Truffière side of the vineyard). A decidedly ripe and moderately exotic nose offers up notes of passion fruit, dried peach, melon and honeysuckle. There is fine verve to the delicious and equally caressing medium weight flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the persistent finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This too should drink well young if desired. Drinking range: 2025 - Rating: 90-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2021)

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is showing very nicely, offering up aromas of citrus oil, pear and fresh apricot, complemented by hints of pastry cream and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and fleshy, with lively acids and an ample core of fruit, it concludes with a precise, mineral finish. Rating: 92-94 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

Full yellow with a light green tint. Quite a sunny fruit on the nose, saffron suggests Jérôme. This version has kept enough flesh, with a saline touch to the acidity. Red soil at the Folatières side. Very interesting, I can see some yellow plums and I like the saffron idea. Otherwise, this is on the solid side for Puligny (not unique this year) rather than floral. Tasted: November 2020 **** Rating: 91 - 94 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Champ-Gain 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of freshly sliced pear, Granny Smith apples and light limestone aromas. The palate is well balanced with tropical notes on the entry, quite harmonious and focused even if it just needs a little more mineralité on the apricot-tinged finish. Fine. Drinking range: 2022 - 2030 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2020)
