80 year-old vines, on a vineyard with very little topsoil over the rock. Dark colour, sleek and quite fine - bright - there's an airy mineral feel with a juicy acidity which carries the finish really well. Mouthwatering and fresh. L&S (Nov 2021)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

A decidedly ripe yet nicely fresh nose combines notes of cassis, black cherry and cool earth. There is excellent detail and energy to the middleweight flavors that possess a relatively refined texture in the context of what is typical for Chorey though the expected backend rusticity does eventually surface. Even so, this powerful effort is very good for what it is. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 89 Allen Meadows, (Jan 2023)

Domaine Dugat-Py

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
