Damson and smoked oak on the nose, sweet fruit on the opening beats and this is richer than many you will find in the appellation, with well-worked tannins. A gourmet feel, not quite masking the high acidities that appear on the finish, closing things down. But plenty of appeal, and estate signature. 70% new oak. 32hl/y yield. Harvest September 27 to October 12. Drinking range: 2026 - 2040 Rating: 91 Jane Anson, www.janeanson.com (May 2022)
