This may seem like a bit of a contradiction, but for a full bodied wine, the Plaer 2021 is really rather light on it's feet. It never gets heavy in any way, yes it has a bold tannic structure, but they are ripe and frame the deeply fragrant plum, mulberry and blackberry fruit beautifully. There is a consistent note of fennel and rosemary in the aromatics and flavour of the wine and then a fresh crispness to the acidity that re-invigorates and keeps the wine beautifully balanced. His wines have already received accolades from Decanter magazine and even the old guard of the wine industry Steven Spurrier.
