This red is so alluring and virtually seamless at this youthful stage that you may want to drink it now. However, patience will be rewarded as the cherry, raspberry, floral, mineral and toasty oak flavors become fully integrated and the tertiary characteristics from bottle aging emerge. Shows superb balance and length. Best from 2029 through 2048. 195 cases made. Drinking range: 2029 - 2048 Rating: 97 The Wine Spectator, www.winespectator.com (Sept 2025)

Starting with a whiff of clove cigarette followed by black plums, mulberries, forest floor and dried fire wood, the palate is sheer muscle in this vintage. The layers of chunky fruit concentration are corralled by sappy tannins and peppy acidity. Faiveley owns one parcel in the upper-mid slope and two by the D974, as well as a beautiful portail, or gate. Rating: 95 Tim Atkin MW, www.timatkin.com (Jan 2025)

(blended from 3 separate lieux-dits, two near the bottom and one near the top). An unusually floral suffused nose for Clos de Vougeot features additional nose of various red berries and just turned earth. The attractively textured, if not especially dense, medium weight flavors terminate in a youthfully austere and lingering finish that could also use better depth. Drinking range: 2033 - Rating: 90-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2025)

The 2023 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a clean and pure bouquet that perhaps doesn't possess the mineralité and complexity of the Corton Clos de Faiveley. The palate is clean and pure with silky tannins. It's not a powerful Clos Vougeot, yet it's focused and harmonious with a dab of sour cherry on the slightly truncated finish. Drinking range: 2027 - 2042 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2025)

Domaine Faiveley

The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côte de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
