MONDEUSE DE MONTAGNIEU

Founded in 1988 by brothers Roland and Frédéric Bonnard, Maison Bonnard began with just a single hectare of vines alongside the family’s mixed farming activity. More than thirty years later, the estate has grown to 16 hectares, with the next generation, Romain and Anne-Sophie, now helping to shape its future.
The domaine is based in the tiny village of Crept, in the heart of the Bugey region between Savoie and the Jura, where steep, dramatic slopes define the landscape. Over the years, the family has carefully assembled vineyard sites across the hills of Montagnieu, selecting terroirs that best express the wines they love to make: limestone scree for Mondeuse and Pinot Noir, deep clay for Altesse, and stony clay-limestone soils for Chardonnay and Gamay.
Working organically by instinct and tradition for many years, the estate has increasingly embraced biodynamic principles as a natural extension of its philosophy - farming with sensitivity and respect to reveal the purity and authenticity of these remarkable mountain terroirs.
