Vineyard Romagna

From the wonderful Raffaella Bissoni and her beautiful farm up in the hills of Emilia-Romagna, this is always so much fun, sleek and pure with cherry, tobacco, plum and mocha aromas and flavours. Watch out big name Sangiovese - this really is a class act - and incredibly well priced! Unencumbered by oak, it delivers a bright, pertly juicy and very easy drinking style. Rafaella works her land as though it were a small-holding - with real passion and care for every vine. The vineyards are interspersed with natural herbs and flowers too, creating wonderful biodiversity that really adds another level to the wine - (and to the scenery!) L&S (Jan 2026)

Bissoni

Raffaella Bissoni has always dreamt of raising the profile of Emilia Romagna's important grape varieties; Sangiovese and Albana.

Her aim was to produce fine wines through careful work in the vineyards, being patient and respectful of nature and its cycles. She wanted to bottle not only wine, but also her passion and her love for things done properly. And so in 1988 she founded the Bissoni winery. Nestled on the beautiful hillside of Casticciano, a natural terrace overlooking the sea in the medieval town of Bertinoro. She has always worked organically and treats the farm as a complete ecosystem with vines sharing soil with wildly growing cover-crops. For Raffaella, this natural balance is key. Even with the cover crops she wants the land to select what should grow, rather than choosing and manipulating the soil buy planting beans or other well-known solutions. From the 2016 vintage Raffaella has been certified organic although nothing has actually changed in her work. Pure and fresh wines from this true artisan producer.

Today, she is living the dream and remains faithful to her values - organically certified these are beautifully crafted wines coming from her 5 hectares of pristine vineyards.

Regional Italian | Mixed 12

The Great Italian Escape: The Native Grape Masterclass Italy boasts hundreds of indigenous grape varieties, yet the global market tends to focus on just a handful of famous names.
While we love a benchmark Barolo or a classic Chianti as much as anyone, we find that some of the magic of Italian wine can lie slightly off the beaten path.
We have spent a great deal of time travelling across the country, seeking out the families quietly championing these ancient, local varieties. This 12-bottle case (featuring two of each wine) acts as a thrilling tasting tour from the hills north of venice right down to the volcanic south.
Whether you are a dedicated terroir explorer or simply looking for the ultimate toolkit for a run of joyful evenings, this collection captures the effortless, generous spirit of the Italian dinner table.
What's Inside the Mixed Case:
2x 2024 FEUDO Chiaretto, La Feliciana (Lombardy): A wonderfully pale, dry pink from the shores of Lake Garda. An immediate hit of sweet cherry and firm strawberry, offering serious competition to Provence.
2x 2024 PINOT GRIGIO 'Ramato', Visintini (Friuli): A grown-up, skin-contact Pinot Grigio with a delicate pink/copper hue. Elegant and complex with notes of spiced pear, nectarine, and juicy fresh lift of citrus pep.
2x 2024 KRATOS Fiano, Luigi Maffini (Campania): An elegant, mineral-driven white from the Campanian coast. Restrained aromas of lemon peel and ferns give way to a polished, high-energy finish.
2x 2024 MOFETE Etna Bianco, Palmento Costanzo (Sicily): A racy, tense blend of Carricante and Catarratto grown on the high volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. Tangy, saline, and loaded with white peach.
2x 2023 SANGIOVESE Girapoggio, Bissoni (Emilia Romagna): A pristine, organic Sangiovese from a small, hand-tended farm. Unencumbered by oak, it is sleek, pure, and incredibly juicy with cherry and mocha notes.
2x 2022 SUSUMANIELLO Artiglio, Cantine de Falco (Puglia): From 20-30 year old vines in the heart of Salento. An earthy, wildly fun red with notes of chocolate, plum flesh, and a wonderfully fragrant spice.
