Wow. This is an absolute treat. Fresh from the cask after 6 years under flor - this delightfully dry and fresh Fino has developed so many intriguing elements on the palate. Dried fruit - a salty, seaweedy element adding savour, depth and intrigue and then dried flowers and soft nuts too. What a ride! With one sip you are on the quay in an Andalusian fishing village, add a bowl of salted Almonds and you are all set for some perfect escapism with this fabulous wine. Cellarmaster Antonio Flores selects the 3 best casks of Fino for this very limited bottling, which is done 'En Rama' style - with no fining or filtration. Just unblemished raw sherry drawn straight from the barrel. Catch it while you can. L&S (Jan 2021)

Gonzalez Byass

In 1835, a young man called Manuel María González Angel arrived in Jerez, intent on making a name for himself in the thriving and lucrative sherry business. Encouraged by the consistent growth in exports, that same year he purchased a small winery and began to produce and export his own wines. This was the start of Bodegas Tío Pepe which, due to the firm’s increasing success, became the González Byass company soon afterwards. Today, Bodegas Tío Pepe is known around the world as one of the leading producers of sherry and Brandy de Jerez.
