Lovely biscuity, ripe fruit nose with citrus and yellow plum notes. On the palate the wine is generous with plenty of ripe fruit, touch creamy, bread and mocha, then a lovely mouthwatering acidity giving excellent length and balance. L&S (Oct 2016)

Federico Fossati, the “Soul of Corte Aura”, is not yet 40 but already taking on a second career - with great results!. He left his homeland of the Veneto and a career in finance to set up in Lombardy. He saw his future in Adro, Franciacorta. Prime growing grounds for classic, high quality fruit, perfect for Franciacorta. The towns emblem is made up of three bunches of grapes - this is what they do there!
We are delighted to be working with the team here - it is so refreshing to have people making great Sparkling wine - who really understand that as it is not labelled Champagne - there is work to be done to raise the profile of Franciacorta and they know prices must be part of the allure - these represent seriously good value and we are so pleased to be listing the Brut and the fantastic Pas Dosé cuvée - perfect adverts for what is achievable here in this historic region - with passion, attention to detail and a long-term plan.
They own many of the own vineyards as well as buying in grapes from trusted growers and although still quite young are becoming seriously respected in the area.
Franciacorta deserves more recognition for its sophisticated sparklings, especially when they cost less than £20 a bottle, like this. Made from Chardonnay with two years' aging on its lees, it's soft and expressive with green apple and lemon fruit. The palate is light and fresh with an attractive zesty finish. Rating: 90 Christelle Guibert, Decanter (Apr 2017)
This is 100 per cent Chardonnay and aged on its lees for 20 months, but it's not a Franciacorta that's trying to ape Champagne. It offers instead a bridge between Prosecco and Champagne – approachable, softer and less complex than Champagne but well-made with rounded, apple and lime flavours. New to Lea & Sandeman. Rating: 87 www.thewinegang.com (Oct 2016)
Very good price. Great delivery for the money. Not the leanest or freshest. Feels as though the fruit was rather hard pressed. But the quality of mousse is very good for the money. Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Sep 2016)
