Lea & Sandeman review

‘Still my personal favourite of the Jacqueson whites, the Pucelle has always had something reminiscent of the style of Puligny about it, slidey, mineral, light-footed, appetising and pure. As always it could do with a little more time, but if you want to try it fully mature you will have to cellar it yourself as we cannot hold onto it long enough.’ L&S

Other reviews and comments

‘The 2012 Rully 1er Cru La Pucelle has a fragrant bouquet with apple blossom and light orange zest scents that gently waft from the glass. The palate is light and grassy on the entry. The acidity is nicely poised and there is a lilting finish that cuts away just a tad too quickly. Otherwise, this is fine, relatively easy-drinking white Burgundy.’ 89/100 Neal Martin, www.erobertparker.com

Domaine Paul et Marie Jacqueson

The adventurous and sportif Paul Jacqueson makes wines of impeccable quality, when not climbing in the Himalayas, close indeed to their much more expensive cousins on the Côte d’Or. We have a particular fondness for the whites, and especially the Pucelle, which is a model of what a great Rully can be year after year.
