A rich and powerful Chassagne-Montrachet with serious concentration and creaminess, but thanks to the acidity and the fine tannins this remains poised through the long and very sensual finish. Drink or hold. Rating: 95 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Jul 2021)

(from Le Grand Clos and Vignes Blanches). Notes of petrol and rosemary oil add breadth to the ripe and softly exotic white peach scents. There is good verve to the relatively refined medium-bodied flavors that flash terrific persistence on the balanced finale. This will need to develop better depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range, but it appears to have the potential to do just that. Drinking range: 2027 - Rating: 91-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2021)
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru (Marquis de Laguiche), which went through complete malo, has an almost feisty bouquet of lemongrass-tinged tropical fruit that sports just a tiny reduction. The palate is very well balanced, and a striking line of acidity imparts great tension. Quite complex on the finish, this offers appealing ginger and apricot notes on the aftertaste, plus the sapidity to encourage you back for another sip. Excellent. Drinking range: 2022 - 2038 Rating: 92-94 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2020)
Really intriguing lift on the nose and deep, deep flavours. This very impressive, reasonably open wine has real grip and integrity on the palate. So deep-flavoured with lime and savour. Better than some grands crus. Really racy. Drinking range: 2022 - 2033 Rating: 17+ Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Dec 2020)
In barrel, unracked, rather backward, with primary fermentation aromas still in place and showing the oak a touch, but none of that matters. This is massive in its Morgeot style, heady, but all in place, a terroir, which can take these conditions, indeed revels in them. There is a beautiful structure behind this wine, shrouded in white fruit. This is going to be great. Tasted: December 2020 ***** Rating: 93-95 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Dec 2020)
Despite the size of their vineyard holding, not all Drouhin's wines come from their own domaine, but most of the other wines do come from long-term contracts, such as exists with the Marquis de Laguiche wines. In all but name these wines are 'Domaine' wines, and the vineyards are cared for and the wines vinified with exactly the same care.

Wines bought en primeur are scheduled to arrive in the UK over the course of the next eighteen months. If you do not wish to take home delivery, you may wish to consider where you would like the wines shipped on arrival in the UK. Lea & Sandeman offers duty paid and in bond storage through a dedicated storage company called Elephant Storage. For more details on the terms and fees associated with storage please go to our Storage Homepage or contact our primeurs team for more information.
While helpful, we do not require a firm commitment on delivery destination to process your primeur order at this stage. Our team will be in contact with you when your wines arrive in the UK to confirm the necessary delivery details.
