Such a cool line to this, seamless weight and texture. Incredibly fine. Very dark and authoritative wild berry scented palate. It's just fabulous. Drinking range: 2030 - 2042L&S (Oct 2020)

(from a .93 ha parcel). Slightly more evident wood frames more deeply pitched aromas of poached plum, cassis and warm earth along with spicy top notes. There is both good richness and vibrancy to the bigger-bodied and more muscular flavors that display focused power on the youthfully austere, complex and more structured finale. This offers outstanding length and is a wine that should also repay extended keeping. Drinking range: 2031 - Rating: 91-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)
Rich purple, deeply sensual and slightly oaky in bouquet. A little touch of redcurrant – certainly not black fruit here, except perhaps right at the back of the palate. The tannins are lying quietly in their place, a little light acidity, good length. Tasted: November 2020 4/5 stars Rating: 94-97 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Jan 2021)
The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru has a fragrant bouquet, maybe a little more compact than the Echézeaux. The grippy palate is medium-bodied and muscular compared to the Echézeaux, with dark berry fruit, touches of pain d’épices and a slightly savory finish. This will need time. Drinking range: 2024 - 2040 Rating: 91-93 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2020)
Domaine Anne Gros
Anne Gros joined her father François at the family domaine in Vosne Romanée in 1988, having given up her arts studies in favour of viticulture and oenology at Beaune and Dijon, and has run the domaine alone since 1995. The Domaine now has 6.5 hectares of Pinot and Chardonnay. Anne describes herself as being 'wary of certainties and keen to preserve her freedom'.
In the vineyards Anne practises viticulture influenced by organic and biodynamic principles, and the vineyards are ploughed and fertilised with compost, but although she believes that the long-term health of the vineyards are best preserved by such methods, she likes to maintain the freedom to use conventional treatments when necessary.
In the cellar, the wines are classically made, in cement tanks for the reds, and stainless steel for the whites. They are then are aged in barrel for up to fifteen months, with 80% new wood for the grand crus, 50% for the village wines and 30% for the regional wines. Anne is quietly meticulous and almost obsessive about cleanliness in her cellar, which perhaps is reflected in the delicacy and restrained tension in her wines, which have aromatic clarity, limpid precision, sheer joie de vivre, lively balance and persistence.

Wines bought en primeur are scheduled to arrive in the UK over the course of the next eighteen months. If you do not wish to take home delivery, you may wish to consider where you would like the wines shipped on arrival in the UK. Lea & Sandeman offers duty paid and in bond storage through a dedicated storage company called Elephant Storage. For more details on the terms and fees associated with storage please go to our Storage Homepage or contact our primeurs team for more information.
While helpful, we do not require a firm commitment on delivery destination to process your primeur order at this stage. Our team will be in contact with you when your wines arrive in the UK to confirm the necessary delivery details.
