NUITS SAINT GEORGES
2024 1er Cru Les Saint Georges Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair
Cropped at just 3hl/ha. Thibault and his team were up until 2am, destemming this by hand and checking every bunch for quality. This incredible attention to detail shows through in a cuvee which was reduced by over 80%. Totally charming, but with a seriousness which defies the vintage.L&S (Nov 2025)

The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru comes from vines that were attacked by mildew, so it took three hours to harvest and ten hours to manually de-stem! That effort paid off with a delineated and pure bouquet, touches of wilted rose petal and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly herbaceous entry, fine acidity, gentle grip and a peppery finish. Just a bit foursquare perhaps but impressive length. Give it a couple of years in bottle, approach with tempered expectations and you won't be disappointed. Drinking range: 2026 - 2044 Rating: 91-93 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2026)
An airy, cool and layered nose features notes of various red berries and soft earth wisps. The rich, concentrated and bigger-bodied flavors possess good power though the finish is similar to that of the Aux Réas in that it is a bit skinny if not outright lean. Note that my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will flesh out as it ages. Drinking range: 2034 - Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2026)
Three barrels only. Rich deep purple. A very classical bouquet, hedonistic, yet with precision. Just what one wants. Riper fruit here, with some blackberry and blackcurrant, refined but present tannins. All produced ‘berry by berry’ for Les St-Georges and the Richebourg. Drinking range: 2032 - 2038 Rating: 93-96 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2025)
Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair
Thibault Liger-Belair has two hectares in Les Saint Georges, the vineyard which gives Nuits the rest of its name, and 60 ares out of a total of 4 hectares of the Grand Cru Richebourg, as well as a good holding in the Clos Vougeot and some well-placed village wines. The vineyards are a good start, but it is Thibault himself who has catapulted this domaine straight into the very top echelons of Côte de Nuits domaines from his first vintage (2002). Thibault was trained as an oenologist but first worked as a wine buyer. He has come to wine making with a wide experience of wine buying, and has had the advantage of having discussed wine-making for many years, with the benefit of his oenological background, with some of the best winemakers of the world. Viticulture is biodynamic (since 2005), yields low but not ludicrously low, everything is pragmatic, so that he should be doing just what is necessary and no more. He uses 40-50% new wood maximum. The wines are bright, pure, focused, aromatic and elegant without lacking anything in the way of stuffing.
Please note that certain wines are on very tight allocations and will first be offered to customers who buy across the range. If you have any queries, please email our primeurs team or speak to your usual L&S contact. Please feel free to email us at any time.
