100-year-old Croatina vines. The darkest of the Le Piane wines so far. Darker-fruited, too, and more savoury. Elegant, restrained, fine-boned. Beautifully structured and long.

There's juicy character with plums, chocolate, walnuts and berries. Medium-bodied and delicious with a fresh acidity and length. 64% merlot and 36% cabernet sauvignon. Better in a year or two.
