Barbera

The most widely planted grape variety in Piedmont and third most planted in Italy. Noted for deep colour, relatively low tannins and crisp acidity, Barbera lends itself well to soft easy drinking reds for youthful consumption, although there are some excellent fuller spicier examples to be be found too.
