We are very excited to have found a delightful new Vouvray, which even calls itself 'Spring', to brighten up our days, as well as exciting our palates. Dry, weighty and yet bright with fresh apple scents and sappy, deep-flavoured fruit. Really interesting Chenin that is delicately muscular and long. L&S (Jan 2010)

Unusually vivid green apple nose, with a certain ozoney minerality and a polar clarity. The palate has a hugely decisive core of acidity, the tight, lean citrus nature of the flavours giving huge tang. Pretty stern stuff, marvellously intellectual and aesthetic, but needs food. Domaine Vincent Carême
Vincent Carême was working in South Africa, gaining a little New World insight into Chenin Blanc, when he met his wife Tania. Together they settled back in Vouvray in 1999, initially renting, then buying and, later, inheriting vineyards. The jewel in their crown must be the Le Clos vineyard that they have had since 2003.
