Emmanuel Reynaud's Cotes du Rhone, based upon very old vines Grenache, rarely fails to impress and is characterised by notes of cedar box and spice. The 2008 has a distinctive nose of stewed damsons and is packed with ripe fruit compote fruit. More powerful than in previous vintages (14%) but still balanced by a good acidity through the finish. Château des Tours

Emmanuel Reynaud is the fourth generation of wine growers and took over from his father at Château des Tours in 1997 and also at the famous Chateau Rayas after the death of his uncle Jacques Reynaud. His wines are based upon very old Grenache vines, giving wines of little colour but great intensity of aroma and flavour.
